It was in the early 1980s that Nike spotted the new prodigy of basketball, Michael Jordan. They sign a contract together so that it no longer carries Converse.
In 1985, he presented for the first time on the ground with a pair of Air Jordan 1, the new model devised by Peter Mooremark. This black & red pair does not respect the colors of its team, it keeps receiving fines ... and Nike keeps paying them! The NBA was even forced to ban the model during matches, a true marketing opportunity for Nike, which was then a publicity campaign claiming " The NBA banned it, but nothing stops the new Air Jordan. It's the birth of a myth.

The essential Dunk

This model was born in 1989, thanks to designer Steven Smith, also known to be the author of Yeezy 700.
Originally imagined for basketball courts, the New Balance 550 fails to win in the middle of the competition ... It is a failure for the Made in Boston brand which wishes to conquer basketball, in a dazzling ascent at the time. It was not until 2020 that the New Balance 550 made its comeback!

Yeezy 350v2: The fashion-forward

Air Jordan 4: Fly like Mike
During the 1988-89 season, the famous NBA player Michael Jordan, sponsored by Nike, introduced the air Jordan 4 on the basketball field. Imagined by Tinker Hatfield, she is drawn to bring more flexibility, ventilation and comfort to the athlete.

In 2015, a first collaboration between Nike and Sacai was born. This ready-to-wear collection is very successful.
